“Burnish: The Evolution of Fire” Performance at Overton Park on August 13th
Some interprete fire as a symbol of evil, destruction, choas, or satanic hell. Some, however, see it as a beacon of light, hope, creation, and strength. ”Burnish” means “to light up, to illuminate, to polish, to shine.” A group of young women and men of Fire Tribe Memphis will use this mysterious element to ignite dance, such as belly dance, Afro-Brazilian Capoeira, and aerial hood dance. The performance will be on Friday, August 13th, at the Levitt Shell, Overton Park, Memphis, TN, at 8:30 p.m. Free Admission!
